  Robert Parson      Robert L. Parson is Appraisal Policy Specialist, Credit & Market Risk with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, DC. He also serves as the OCC member of the Appraisal Subcommittee of FFIEC.

Prior to joining the OCC in 2008, Mr. Parson was the President of Valuation Management Compliance, LLC which provided consulting services for the mortgage lending industry in appraisal policy and risk management practices.

Mr. Parson was Chief Appraiser, Freddie Mac from 1995 until 2003. He is a co-inventor of “Systems and Methods for Determining the Value of Assets” (United States Patent 7,340,431, 2008)

Bob was Vice President, Chief Real Estate Appraiser for Continental Bank in Chicago during the time period when FIRREA was implemented. He was a full time faculty member in the Real Estate Department at Eastern Kentucky University, and his various papers on real estate valuation concepts have appeared in technical publications and texts. He has extensive appraisal and review experience and has completed numerous valuation assignments including appraising the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Pebble Beach Company, resorts and restaurant chains in Hawaii, and a liver desiccating plant in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Bob received his Masters Degree in Real Estate Appraisal and Investment Analysis under Dr. James A. Graaskamp at the University of Wisconsin. He is a Virginia Certified General Appraiser and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He has also developed a reputation for smoking up a mean rack of ribs.
